No Voice Should Go Unheard
My Background
I am attorney Debra “Debbie” Nelson. I have always been passionate and committed to serve others. I began my career as a registered nurse (RN), working in a Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit. I then became a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), administering anesthesia for surgery as well as labor and delivery at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Since completing my law degree from the University of Cincinnati, I have continued my commitment to serve others by finding justice for victims of sexual abuse and harassment and medical negligence.
I am a member of:
- The Trial Lawyers College
- The American Association of Justice
- The American Bar Association
- The Ohio Association for Justice
- Kentucky Justice Association
- The West Virginia Association for Justice
- The Cincinnati Bar Association
- The Kentucky Bar Association
When I am not practicing law, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like to unwind by spending time outdoors: running, bicycling or hiking.
How My Experience Will Benefit You
I have firsthand experience working in operating rooms, delivery rooms and patient rooms, which gives me a unique insight into the life-altering experience of my clients. In my early law practice, I represented doctors, nurses and hospitals. That experience gave me knowledge of the tactics insurance companies use when representing these medical practitioners.
I also completed training as a Stephen minister, a layperson who provides compassionate listening and empathy to those experiencing a crisis in their lives, whether from grief, illness, divorce or traumatic events. My skills as a Stephen minister have been valuable when listening to and understanding the stories of my clients.
I am highly qualified and committed to representing victims of abuse and medical malpractice.
